Our goal is very clear – to collect one million coins of 1 centas (a coin having the smallest face value in Lithuania) and to build a pyramid. The progress can be observed in the centometre which is located in the top of the webpage. If it is difficult to imagine, how the pyramid will look like, please take a look to the calculations we have made.
I have started to collect 1, 2 and 5 centas coins a few years ago. Due to the aluminium gloss they are called “white coins” in Lithuania. It has all started when I saw a coins change machine in the Bank of Lithuania and likely wanted to use it. The easiest way to do this seemed to collect a large amount of coins having small denominations. My dream was going to the bank with a pail full of the white coins.
In the autumn of 2009 during a boring lecture we have been watching YouTube. Accidentally, I have found a video about a coin pyramid build by an American. “Let’s build a larger one!”, I have shouted out to my colleagues.
